I’m a huge proponent of bands formed by siblings, especially sisters. Being one of four sisters myself, I’ve spent a lot of time musing over the possibility of starting a band. In the meantime, I’m living vicariously through Haim.
The Haim sisters, who began their eponymous band in 2005, are currently killing it on the music scene. The trio has a very impressive music background, beginning with a family band started by their music-loving parents. Their current sound captures a 70’s folk-rock vibe mixed with some R&B/hip-hop notes and has the underlying feel of a rockin 90’s girl group. Check out their song Falling, which has been making its rounds throughout the interweb for a while now. A new album called “Day’s Are Gone” is due to be released this September. They’re a band not to be missed, that’s for sure.
